Stuff, stuff, stuff

Since we are new car owners as of last week, we have been enjoying a great deal of freedom....and shopping! Finally we can wrap up the various odds and ends we need to take care of before baby arrives, not the least of which is procuring the necessary baby equipment.

We decided to drive to Sweden and shop there to see if we could save a little money. We picked up our stroller and the crib mattress.

The strollers in Norway are way nicer than in the states. Well, let me elaborate. America has the same strollers as Norway, but you hardly ever see anyone with them because they are super expensive. Most Americans make due with the standard umbrella strollers, or maybe a slightly nicer version of that. At least, that's the case in flat Florida.

In Norway, mostly because Norwegians do a lot more walking outdoors and the terrain is rougher, the strollers available are all big and elaborate. Cadillacs of baby moving!

Thankfully, my husband and I picked ours out quickly. We could have made a much larger production out of the whole affair. We got the Teutonia 4-wheel model with the swivel front wheels and all the gear to make it both a pram and a stroller. Our baby can use it from birth to 4 years old!

We also picked up a crib mattress. My husband got the most expensive one. Already wrapped around her little finger, he is! And I guess since we're such good customers, the store decided to throw in the diaper pail for free. Thank goodness because we needed that too!
