There has been a date on my pregnancy calendar that I have been eagerly looking forward to since I first printed it out 16 weeks ago. It was 5/12/09 - Viability. This date marks the first day of the 24th week.
Starting at 24 weeks, the baby's chances of survival start climbing high and fast. In fact, by the end of the 26th week, the baby's chances of survival will have gone from 10% at the most to 90%+!!!
This is a huge relief for me. Thomas keeps trying to keep me grounded, saying this does not guarantee anything and not to start acting like we're in the clear. While he's right, I also think this is a huge cause for celebration. It's just another landmark making this baby more "real."
